SBI PO 2017 Results

All results pertaining to SBI PO 2017 will be made available on the official website of State bank of India, the governing body for the SBI PO exam.

SBI PO Pre Result

The IBPS has been declared the SBI PO Prelims exam result on 16th May.

SBI PO Mains Result

SBI PO Books 2017

This year, the number of available posts for Probationary officers were slightly higher, 2313 jobs as advertised by SBI.

In this article, we will not just help you with the exam pattern but also give you suggestions for the books you can use to excel each section.

SBI PO Exam includes three phases –

  1.    Phase I is the preliminary exam held online and is an objective based exam. You get only one hour to finish the exam so time should be kept in mind while giving the exam. The exam paper includes three sections –
  •    English Language – carries 30 questions of 1 mark each
  •    Quantitative Aptitude – carries 35 questions of 1 mark each
  •    Reasoning ability – carries 35 questions of 1 mark each

Since it is objective based, it is easier to score marks here if you prepare well.

  1.    Phase II is the main exam you’ll have to give if you want to get selected and get called for the third round. This exam consists of two tests, an objective based which carries 200 marks and a descriptive test, and both the tests can be given in online mode. As soon as you finish the objective based test, your descriptive test will start. There will be no break whatsoever.
  • Objective based test – the test should be completed within 3 hours
  1.    Reasoning and Computer Aptitude – includes 45 questions which carry a total of 60 marks and the time given will be 60 minutes
  2.    Data Analysis and Interpretation – includes 35 questions which carry a total of 60 marks and the time given will be 45 minutes
  3.    English Language – includes 35 questions which carry a total of 40 marks and the time given will be 40 minutes
  4.    General (related to economy and banking) – includes 40 questions which carry a total of 40 marks and the time given will be 35 minutes

If you tally it, the objective based test is of 200 marks and 3 hours of time will be given to you to finish the paper.

  • Descriptive Paper

(a)    The duration for the descriptive paper will be 30 minutes, and it will comprise of 50 marks

(b)    It will be a basic test to test your English, you might get asked to write a letter and an essay

(c)    To quality this test, you will have to secure the passing marks, at least

(d)    To get evaluated for this test, you will first have to quality the objective test, if you fail to do so, your descriptive paper will not be evaluated

Note – For every wrong answer, one fourth of the marks the question carries will be deducted in the form of penalty

  1. 3.    Phase III is group discussion and personal Interview (GDPI)

If you’re lucky enough to get through the second phase, you might get called for GDPI. The interview carries 30 marks, and the group discussion carries 20 marks. You will get called for Phase III according to your ranks.
